Authorship Criteria

Journal Study of Indonesian Language and Literature Education (PENEROKA) is a scholarly journal that publishes research findings, conceptual studies, and academic developments in the field of Indonesian Language and Literature Education. To uphold academic integrity and the quality of its publications, the journal has established a policy on authorship criteria, which serves as a guideline for determining an individual's eligibility to be listed as an author of a scholarly article. This policy covers authorship requirements, author contributions, the order of names, the responsibilities of the lead author and the corresponding author, the acknowledgment of contributors, the use of artificial intelligence (AI), changes to authorship, and the handling of alleged breaches of authorship ethics. This policy applies to all authors—whether sole or co-authors—who submit manuscripts to *Journal Study of Indonesian Language and Literature Education* (PENEROKA), including those affiliated with universities, educational institutions, *pesantren* (Islamic boarding schools), government agencies, civil society organizations, or any other institutions.
Authorship in *Journal Study of Indonesian Language and Literature Education* (PENEROKA) is determined based on the following principles:
1. Substantial contribution
Authorship status is granted to individuals who have made an intellectual and substantive contribution to the research or the preparation of the scholarly work. The inclusion of a name must not be based solely on academic rank, structural position, seniority, personal relationships, or the provision of funding.
2. Honesty and transparency
All authors are required to provide accurate information regarding authorship, including their identity, affiliation, role in the research, and their relationship with other authors.
3. Scholarly accountability
Each author is responsible for their own contribution and must collaborate to ensure that any inquiries concerning data accuracy, research integrity, and the validity of the article's content are addressed in a responsible manner.
4. Fairness and recognition of contributions
Every individual who meets the authorship criteria is entitled to appropriate recognition. Conversely, individuals who do not meet these criteria must not be listed as authors solely based on their position or other specific interests.
5. Academic integrity
Authorship must be free from manipulation, falsification of contributions, the inclusion of names without sufficient contribution, or the omission of individuals who deserve recognition. Criteria for Authorship Eligibility
An individual may be listed as an author of an article in the Journal Study of Indonesian Language and Literature Education (PENEROKA) if they meet all of the following criteria:
a. Substantive contribution to the research or scholarly work
The individual has made a significant contribution to one or more of the following aspects:
1. Formulation of ideas, research problems, objectives, and research questions.

Development of a conceptual framework, theory, or analytical model.
Design of the research methodology, instruments, and data collection procedures.
Execution of the research, data collection, or fieldwork documentation.
Processing, analysis, interpretation, and synthesis of data or literature.
Development of scientific concepts, arguments, or recommendations that form the core substance of the article. In the context of Indonesian Language and Literature Education, such contributions may include research on the planning, processes, and evaluation of Indonesian language instruction, as well as research on Indonesian literature.
Involvement in substantive writing or review. The individual has participated in drafting the manuscript or conducting a critical review of the article’s intellectual substance. This may include drafting the introduction, theoretical review, methodology, results and discussion, or conclusions, as well as making substantive revisions to scientific arguments. Activities limited to proofreading, translation, technical editing, formatting, or correcting typographical errors do not satisfy this criterion.
Approval of the final manuscript. Every author is required to read and approve the final version of the manuscript to be published. This agreement encompasses the content of the article, the identities and affiliations of the authors, the order of authorship, statements of contribution, and the disclosure of any relevant potential conflicts of interest. d. Willingness to take responsibility for the integrity of the work. Each author must be prepared to take responsibility for their own contributions, cooperate in investigations regarding alleged ethical breaches or unethical conduct, and assist in ensuring that concerns about the accuracy and integrity of the article are addressed appropriately. These four criteria must be met cumulatively. Individuals who meet only some of the criteria should be given fair consideration.
