Review Process Policy

Review Process Policy is an integral part of scientific publishing, assessing the validity and suitability of article manuscripts for publication. Peer reviewers are experts in the scientific field within the focus and scope of the designated journal and collaborate with the journal to help refine the manuscripts they review.

Every manuscript submitted to the Jurnal Manajemen Pendidikan Islam Darussalam (JMPID) will undergo a selection process based on the following criteria:

  1. Each submitted manuscript will be checked for authenticity or originality, its contribution to the field within the scope, grammar, and format of the journal, as well as the reliability of the methodology and theoretical concepts relevant to the topic and analysis.
  2. The effective deadline for manuscript review is two weeks from the date the manuscript is received by the reviewer. If this time is deemed insufficient, the reviewer must contact the section editor with a clear reason. The reviewer's review period is seven days after notification, and reviewers are expected to work in a timely manner.
  3. Reviewers will assess manuscripts objectively and clearly, either by providing comments/notes directly in the manuscript or through the Manuscript Review Checklist Form. If you encounter difficulties, the reviewer can ask the section editor to send a review checklist form in MS Word format via email.
  4. The reviewer provides recommendations based on the manuscript review as the basis for the editor/section editor's decision, which is then conveyed to the author. Recommendations from the manuscript review include: Accept Submission (manuscript accepted); Revisions Required (manuscript accepted with the condition that it must be revised by the author and returned to the reviewer); Resubmit for Review (manuscript needs to be reviewed by another reviewer); Resubmit Elsewhere (manuscript should be submitted to another journal); Decline Submission (manuscript rejected); See Comments (see comments).
  5. The editor will check the suitability of the scope and originality of the contribution. Any manuscript that does not meet the scope will be notified of its rejection by email.
  6. The originality of the contribution is also assessed through a similarity check using Turnitin. A maximum of 25% similarity is allowed for processing to the review stage. Notification of rejection of publication is provided to the author via email and OJS author.
  7. In the next stage, a review will be conducted by the section editor. If there are discrepancies or inconsistencies in the writing format and systematics with the current Jurnal Manajemen Pendidikan Islam Darussalam (JMPID), publication will be rejected and the author will be notified of the rejection via email.
  8. The reliability of the methodology and theoretical concepts, as well as the analysis, will be checked against the topic and the analysis will be carried out by a reviewer appointed by the editor.
  9. The principle for selecting reviewers for each manuscript is the reviewer's track record of having previously written in an accredited and/or international scientific journal on a topic relevant to the manuscript.
  10. The review process uses a double-blind review method involving at least one reviewer appointed by the editor. If there is a conflicting decision between reviewers, an additional reviewer will be allocated to provide an assessment.
  11. Each review process by reviewers will be completed within a maximum of five weeks from the date the designated reviewer is available.

Peer Review Procedure

  1. Article Submission

Authors submit manuscripts to the Jurnal Manajemen Pendidikan Islam Darussalam (JMPID). Manuscript submissions are made online through the Jurnal Manajemen Pendidikan Islam Darussalam (JMPID) website.

  1. Editorial Team Assessment

The editorial team reviews the manuscript to ensure that the article's writing adheres to the Jurnal Manajemen Pendidikan Islam Darussalam (JMPID) template and that the plagiarism level is a maximum of 25%. The quality of the manuscript is not assessed at this time.

  1. Editor-in-Chief Assessment

The editor-in-chief checks that the manuscript is appropriate for the journal, sufficiently original, and interesting. If not, the paper may be rejected without further review.

  1. Peer Review Invitation

The editor sends an invitation to suitable individuals to be reviewers.

  1. Response to the Invitation

Potential reviewers consider the invitation in light of their expertise, conflicts of interest, and availability. They then accept or decline. When declining, they suggest alternative reviewers, if possible.

  1. Review Conducted

Reviewers take the time to read the manuscript several times to form an initial impression of the manuscript and take notes for a detailed, point-by-point review. The review results are then submitted to the journal, with recommendations including: Accept Submission; Revisions Required (the manuscript is accepted on condition that it must be revised by the author and returned to the reviewer); Resubmit for Review (the manuscript needs to be revised)
